Summary:
|
The Special Education Department has had to make a trip to accommodate the needs of one of our students who is currently placed in an out-of-state residence.
On June 16, 2019, the Special Education Department sent the Director of Special Education, Cindy Barris, to League City, Texas as part of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) team to complete the informal psychoeducational evaluation, as well as an Educational Related Mental Health Evaluation (ERMHS) on a student who is residentially placed there. The student is coming to Perris Union High School District from out of district and the district needs to assess social emotional, cognitive and academic ability to verify student is in the least restrictive placement. This timeframe was needed to meet compliance.
The reason this item is going for ratification is that the trip was deemed necessary on short notice as the parents moved into our district recently.

The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through Special Education Mental Health Funds, not the General Fund.
