Summary: The District would like to contract with Gaggle for the purchase of Gaggle Safety Management. Gaggle Safety Management for Google will be used to discover and alert staff to inappropriate words and images in Gmail, attachments, docs and Drive files. This includes an anti-pornography scanner and ensures compliance on all U.S. privacy and safety laws. (Children's Internet Protection Act---CIPA; Children's Online Privacy Protection Act--COPPA; Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act--FERPA: and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act--HIPAA)

The cost for this fiscal year is $60,030. This price includes a one-time setup fee. Year 2 and year 3 costs are $88,000 per year. The term of each contract is listed below.

Contract Number 2018-47329 beginning December 13, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019
Contract Number 2018-47330 beginning July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020
Contract Number 2018-47259 beginning July 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2021

The total amount for these 31-month contracts are $236,030. The cost will be split between the District and the California Military Institute (CMI) based off of projected enrollment percentages for each school year. The total cost for the District will be $213,453.22. The total cost for CMI will be $22,576.78 which will be billed as a direct cost to CMI per the Memorandum of Understanding between the District and CMI.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Gaggle for the purchase of Gaggle Safety Management for Google.
