Summary: On December 18, 2018 the District issued a formal Notice Inviting Bids for the construction of the Liberty High School Project. The bid openings were held on two separate dates, January 22, 2019 and January 29, 2019. The project has been divided into thirty-three (33) categories of construction of which twenty-eight (28) have been awarded previously by the PUHSD Board of Trustees. After review and careful consideration, the Facilities Department recommended the rejection and rebidding of 5 bids received during the bid process. The categories that were rebid include, Category 3e - Site Concrete, Category 3d - Fencing, Category 7 - Gypsum and Plaster, Category 9 - Roofing and Category 40 - SWPPP BMP Implementation. These Categories were re-bid and bids were received and opened on May 2, 2019. At this time the District is recommending the ratification of awards for the following categories:

CATEGORY NO. / CONTRACTOR / BID AMOUNT

Category 3e / K.A.R. Construction Inc. / Site Concrete
Category 3d / Alcorn Fence Company / Fencing
Category 7 / Sierra Lathing Company / Gypsum and Plaster
Category 9 / Bishop, Inc. / Roofing
Category 40 /Pierre Landscape, Inc. / SWPPP BMP Implementation

TOTAL BID- $27,325,648

These Contracts have been awarded and Notice to Proceed was given in order to meet critical project timelines and negate undue delay of the project. Ratification of these contracts is permitted for Board approved facilities projects pursuant to Purchasing Policy.

A copy of the entire Bid Package is available in the Business Services Division for review.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
