Summary:
|
Staff continues its close work with the Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) to ensure the availability of water and sewer services at Liberty High School for the opening of the school for the 2021-22 school year. This item seeks authorization to execute two Agreements between the District and EMWD to facilitate the construction of off-site water and sewer facilities and services (directly adjacent to Liberty High School property) as well as the provision of temporary sewer and water services to the property as needed during construction. The off-site facilities will connect directly to and energize our on-site high school facilities. Costs associated with the construction of these facilities are being borne by the District through the existing contracts that have been awarded to Liberty High School trade contractors. When completed and accepted by EMWD, the responsibility for operation, maintenance and servicing of the aforementioned off-site facilities will rest with EMWD.
Approval of these Agreements will enable staff to submit them, along with a deposit of $108,472.00 to EMWD, as a final element within our water and sewer plan approval process.

The cost for this item is included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
