Summary: The District and the University of La Verne are interested in entering into a Fieldwork Agreement. The District shall provide counseling, administration, teaching, and/or observation experiences as well as mentoring teachers in schools and classes of the District for students of the teachers in school and classes of the District for the students of the University. The University shall reimburse an honorarium of $100 per student teacher in the Single Subject and Educational Specialist Credential program for introductory Supervised Teaching and $200 per student teacher in the Single Subject and Educational Specialist Credential program for Advanced Supervised Teaching. Further, the University shall reimburse the District for services rendered by the District for an amount not to exceed the actual cost to the District of the services rendered.

The term of this Agreement will be from February 16, 2017 through June 30, 2019.

Pursuant to California Education Codes 44321 and 44452, a school district governing board is authorized to enter into an agreement with a state university or any university or college accredited by the State Board of Education as a teacher education institution in order to provide teaching experience through student teaching to students enrolled in teacher training curricula.
Funding: The budget will be adjusted to reflect this revenue.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Fieldwork Agreement with the University of La Verne.
