Summary: The Perris Union High School District and the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, are interested in entering into a Student Teaching Agreement. The District shall provide counseling, administration, teaching, and/or observations experiences, as well as mentoring teachers in schools and classes of the District for students of the University.

The University will reimburse the District for each mentoring teacher per quarter at a rate of $150 per student.

The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020.

Pursuant to California Education Codes 44321 and 44452, a school district governing board is authorized to enter into an agreement with a state university or any university or college accredited by the State Board of Education as a teacher education institution in order to provide teaching experience through student teaching to students enrolled in teacher training curricula.
Funding: The budget will be adjusted to reflect this revenue.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Multi-Year Student Teaching Agreement with California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
