Summary:

Heritage High School (HHS) drama teacher, Mr. Greg Newman, has submitted an overnight field trip request for drama students to attend the 2018 California State Thespian Conference in Upland, California, March 29–31, 2018. The California State Thespian Conference is one of the largest state conferences in the nation. It allows students in the theatre arts to compete, attend workshops, and audition for scholarships.
This year the state conference is being held in Upland. Because events usually go until 9:00 p.m. or later and begin again early the next morning, staying overnight eliminates late night travel and keeps students at the event instead of on the road traveling back and forth. The conference lasts three days and falls on Friday-Sunday, requiring students missing only one school day.
Mr. Newman and one other teacher will serve as the chaperones and will be taking 15 students this year to the state conference. Transportation will be provided via one of the HHS site vans. The cost per student for registration is $175 per person. The registration fees will be paid through the Associated Student Body (ASB) Drama Club account and student fundraising.
