Summary:
|
The Friday Night Live (FNL) Club Advisors have submitted an overnight field trip request to attend the Active Youth Conference. Paloma Valley High School is requesting fourteen (14) of their respective FNL Club students and two (2) adult chaperones; Heritage High School is requesting for twelve (12) students and one (1) adult chaperone; Perris High School is requesting twenty five (25) students and two (2) chaperones; and Pinacate Middle School is requesting twelve (12) students and two (2) chaperones to attend.
The Active Youth Conference is sponsored by Riverside Friday Night Live and will take place at Camp Buckhorn in Idyllwild, California, on March 8-10, 2019 for middle school students and March 15-17, 2019 for high school students.
Students will spend both days attending lectures and activities that will build leadership skills, teach self-awareness; and discuss drug, alcohol and mental health awareness. The skills taught at these camps include basic leadership and specific leadership skills that have to do with prevention education in the areas of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD). These leadership skills will enable students to facilitate activities and club events while under the direction of a staff advisor and a county liaison.
The cost per student is $110 which will be completely reimbursed by the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE). Transportation for all school sites will be provided by FNL.
