Summary:
|
The Nutrition Services Department requested proposals for exclusive vending services for snacks and beverages. Proposals were evaluated based on factors including the quality and completeness of the proposal, proposed revenue sharing arrangement and revenue stream, quality of the financial safeguards to be instituted to ensure the integrity of the revenue collection and accounting process, proposer’s experience, reasonableness of product pricing, response time for standard service calls and product stocking, and references.
Upon evaluation, Vending ONE submitted the proposal that best met the needs of the District, sites, students, and staff. Vending ONE’s proposed revenue sharing percentage of thirty-five (35) percent will be distributed via an itemized monthly commission check to the District based on the gross sales on each machine. The revenue share amount for each site will then be distributed directly to each site’s Associated Student Body Account.
The duration of the Contract shall be for an initial term commencing on July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020, with two (2) additional one (1) year renewal terms, exercisable at the sole discretion of the District.
All machine locations and contents must all be approved by the Nutrition Services Department to ensure compliance with USDA regulations and District policies.
Legal authorization for this item is Public Contract Code 20111 and Education Code 35182.5.

Funding:

There is no fiscal impact for this item. When the revenue share commission check arrives each month, appropriate revenue adjustments will be distributed to the site’s Associated Student Body Account.
