Summary: On September 14-17, 2017, the California Cadet Corps (CACC) will be hosting the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course at Camp San Luis Obispo.

The intent of the CERT training course is to empower each CACC school with a qualified team of cadets and adult leaders equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to support and play key leadership roles in school emergency response operations during common campus emergencies.

Cadets and adult leaders must complete Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) online courses prior to arrival at Camp San Luis Obispo for commencement of training. The online trainings consist of “Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS - 100” and “Intro to Community Emergency Response Teams”. The online trainings are at no cost to the cadets.

The Cadet Corps is providing food and housing for all cadets attending from the battalions throughout the State. The California Military Institute will provide transportation with a District vehicle. Approximately ten cadets and two adults from CMI will attend the CERT training.
Funding: The cost for this item is funded through the California Cadet Corps Military Department Headquarters.
