Summary: District staff identified the need to remodel Building 200 at Perris Lake High School. Public Contract Code section 22032 permits Districts that have elected to become subject to the Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Procedures to procure contracts expected to cost more than $60,000 but less than $200,000, through an informal bidding procedure. The District reasonably expected the cost of the Project would exceed $60,000 but would be less than $200,000, and therefore in June 2019 issued an informal bid and the form of notice as required by the District's informal bidding ordinance contained within Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 3311.1, and Public Contract Code section 22034. The District received two (2) bids, and Tri R General Contractors, Inc. was determined to be the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, when the other low bidder notified the District that it was nullifying and withdrawing its bid due to a clerical error. The total cost for the remodel construction services is $83,900.
Funding: The cost of this item will be included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the Career Technical Education Incentive Grant, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees award the Contract for Bid #061019 to Tri R General Contractors, Inc. for the Perris Lake High School - Building 200 Remodel Project.
