Summary: The District's CTE (Career, Technical, Education) teachers have the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge by attending the Annual ADOBEMax Conference on October 16-20, 2017. This year’s conference is scheduled to be in Las Vegas, Nevada. To date, there are six District teachers requesting Board approval to attend: David Sanchez, Perris High School; Ana Arroyo, Paloma Valley High School; Gladys Chaidez, Paloma Valley High School; Randy Hughes, Paloma Valley High School; Joe Jennings, Paloma Valley High School; and Michael Wilson, Paloma Valley High School.

Attending the 2017 National ADOBEMax Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, will provide access to two days of in-depth pre-conference labs, followed by three days of sessions, labs, and creativity workshops. There are tons of inspiration and learning opportunities to help attendees create their best work all year long.

Teachers will benefit from this conference by engaging with over 10,000 of the world's top designers, creative directors, video and photography professionals and others for the premier creativity conference. MAX provides hands-on training from best-in-the-business experts in creative labs and workshops along with inspiring talks to help ignite their creativity and grow their classrooms. They will rejuvenate their work, their process, and their own creative journey. MAX is the perfect blend of information and inspiration, practical knowledge and creative magic all combined in one conference.

The cost of registration for this conference is $895 per person; teachers will either drive or fly, regardless of which they choose the maximum reimbursement will be $100 per person for their travel. The total cost including hotel, travel, and meals is approximately $2,500 per person. All expenses are being paid from District Professional Development monies.
Funding: The cost of this item is funded through District Title I funds, Professional Development.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the out-of-state conference attendance request for District teachers to attend the ADOBEMax Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 16-20, 2017.
