Summary:
|
The District would like to enter into an Agreement with T4 Learning to provide teacher training and professional development at the California Military Institute. T4 Learning is designed to transform teaching and learning by strengthening first and best instruction and providing multiple and continuous opportunities for student focused collaboration and inquiry. Efficacious instruction in the 21st Century requires a focus on the Common Core State Standards and implementing high engagement teaching strategies to promote thinking, communicating, and problem-solving. T4 Learning’s four components - Teacher, Training, Tools, and Time - will work together in order to promote educational excellence at the California Military Institute.
T4 Learning will provide California Military Institute teachers with instructional strategies for increased student engagement and mastery, Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and daily lesson objectives, strategies for checking and understanding, efficacious instruction and mastery of CCSS and ELD standards, identification and communication of effective and best classroom practices, lesson design and delivery of rigorous instruction, brisk and effective pacing of delivery to maximize use of instructional time, high engagement strategies to deliberately plan into CCSS lesson designs, and classroom coaching of instructional strategies for CCSS delivery and implementation.
The total cost of service for sixteen (16) days of Common Core State Standards professional development for teachers and instructional coaching for classroom teachers at the California Military Institute is $40,000 to be funded through the California Military Institute Local Control and Accountability Plan, not the General Fund.

The cost for this item will be included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the California Military Institute Local Control and Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds in the amount of $40,000, not the General Fund.
