Summary: Alison King, Associated Student Body (ASB) advisor at Paloma Valley High School (PVHS), is submitting an overnight field trip request for the Board’s consideration and approval for six (6) Paloma Valley yearbook students to go on an overnight trip to the 2017 Summer Yearbook Workshop Camp at Chapman University in Orange, California on July 22-25, 2017.

Students will attend one of the following yearbook workshops: Yearbook I or II, Photography I or II, Editorial Leadership, Editorial Layout and Design
Writing. In addition, the students will be participating in Team Building Activities. The Advisor will receive veteran advisor training and networking with other advisors.

Rooming - students will stay in dorm rooms at Chapman University. Rooms will be assigned by gender and school (boys and girls will not be rooming together). All meals (except for lunch on the first day) are provided by the camp. Total cost will be $2,988 to be paid by the ASB PVHS Yearbook account ($399 per student attendee, $489 per advisor).

Transportation to and from the workshop will be provided by a District vehicle for six students along with one adult chaperone/yearbook advisor.
Funding: The cost for this item is funded by the PVHS ASB/Yearbook Club Account.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the overnight field trip request for six Paloma Valley High School students to attend the 2017 So Cal Summer Yearbook Workshop Camp at Chapman University in Orange, California, July 22-25, 2017.
