Summary: The Perris Union High School District would like to enter into a Homeless Expense Reimbursement Agreement with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools (RCSS). RCSS will reimburse the District up to $2.50 per McKinney eligible pupil, with a total amount not to exceed $1,792.50. The reimbursement is provided to cover transportation costs, school supplies, hygiene items, and Supplemental Educational Services for eligible students and is based on the District’s 2017-18 CALPADS Homeless Count. RCSS will also provide technical assistance to the District Homeless Liaison, work collaboratively with the District, and provide administrative and fiscal management support to accomplish the objectives of the agreement. The District will be responsible for ongoing collection of data on enrollment, standard-based assessments, academics and other information of homeless and non-homeless students to facilitate annual, mandated state report requirements.

The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.

This Agreement is being brought before the Board as a ratification due to untimely receipt from the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools.
Funding: The Perris Union High School District will receive reimbursements of up to $2.50 per McKinney eligible pupil, with a total amount not-to- exceed $1,792.50, based on the 2017-18 CALPADS Homeless count.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify the Agreement with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools for homeless student expense reimbursement.
