Summary:

Ms. Gail Collins, Counselor at California Military Institute, requests approval to attend the Western Association of College Admissions Counselor Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, May 20-22, 2019.
The purpose of the conference is to learn about equity and access to college admissions for counselors in the Western United States. In addition, this conference directly supports California Military Institute's LCAP Goal #2: College and Career Readiness.
This year's conference theme is "Dare to Dream" - to challenge the status quo, think big, and dream of better ways to serve our students in the coming years. Workshop topics will include access for underrepresented populations, how to understand the University of California waitlist process, financial aid, and more. The conference will allow Ms. Collins the opportunity to network with college admission representatives that will allow her to collaborate and build foundational relationships with college admission professionals that is critical in helping students with the college admissions process.
The cost for this item includes registration, lodging, air travel, and meals.

The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through the California Military Institute Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental/Concentration Fund, not the California Military Institute General Fund.
