Summary: On March 31, 2017, the Perris Union High School District and the California School Employee Association Reached a Tentative Agreement (TA). Subsequently, the Agreement was Ratified by CSEA on April 24, 2017.

The major provisions of the TA include a 1% salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2016, an additional 2% salary increase beginning July 1, 2017, an increase of $385 to the health and welfare composite rate cap for a new annual cap of $11,385 effective July 1, 2016, and, as a result of the compensation study agreed upon in May 2015, the following job classification salary ranges will be increased:

The TA also includes a new evaluation form, rubric and schedule and minor language clean up. This is a new successor 3-year contract through June 30, 2019. The Agreement closes salary and benefits for 2016-17 and 2017-18 other than health plan design which may still be discussed in 2017-18. CSEA and the district can each open 3 articles next year and 2 articles in 2018-19.
Funding: The cost is included in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 budgets.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Tentative Agreement between the District and the California School Employee Association.
