Summary:
The District would like to retain the services of one (1) additional School Resource Officer (SRO), bringing the total number of SRO’s in the District to three (3). This would allow for a full time SRO to be at each comprehensive high school. This is an additional annual cost, estimated at $146,231 for 2017-18, and requires an amendment to the existing contract with the County of Riverside Sheriff's Department.
Funding:
The cost for this item will be included in the 2017-18 operating budget funded through the General Fund.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve Amendment No. 1 to the multi-year Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the County of Riverside Sheriff's Department for School Resource Officers.
