Summary:
|
All school facility-related projects must carefully consider the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the potential that each project may have for environmental consequences in relation to CEQA laws and regulations. Staff has completed the necessary reviews and analyses for the PHS Classroom Replacement Project (PHS Master Plan Phases 2A & 2B) and the Perris Agricultural Center for Excellence (PACE) and have determined that both projects qualify to file a Notice of Exemption in order to meet CEQA requirements. These determinations have been made in consideration that both projects essentially provide very similar facility areas in relation to those that are being replaced. In essence, it has been determined that the capacity to house students in the new project areas is essentially similar to that which is being replaced. Each filing will initiate a 35-day review period for public comment. At the conclusion of the review period the next steps to comply with all CEQA requirements will be determined based upon comments that are received.
