Summary: The District would like to enter into a multi-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Azusa Pacific University (APU) for adaptive physical education fieldwork. The District shall provide teaching experience through field work in adaptive physical education for candidates assigned by the University. Such fieldwork shall be provided in schools or classes of the District, and under the direct supervision and instruction of employees of the District.

The term of this MOU will be from December 15, 2018 through June 30, 2022.

Pursuant to California Education Codes 44321 and 44452, a school district governing board is authorized to enter into an agreement with a state university or any university or college accredited by the State Board of Education as a teacher education institution in order to provide teaching experience through many types of field experience to students enrolled in teacher training curricula.
Funding: No fiscal impact.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the multi-year Memorandum of Understanding with Azusa Pacific University for Adaptive Physical Education fieldwork.
