Summary: The District's Educational Services Department has made recommendations for updates in our district wide course catalog. When a course is discovered to be outdated or lack sufficient information, then a request is sent to the teacher(s) to update the course. At this time we are submitting the revised Digital Skills course, formerly known as Keyboarding.

The Digital Skills course is designed to help middle school students achieve mastery of essential digital skills that form the foundation of success in every class where use of a Chromebook is required.

Students will learn how to increase their touch typing speed and accuracy using online resources that provide structured practice and real-time feedback. They will create and manage digital content with Google Suite for Education apps, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Forms, Sheets, Classroom, Slides and Sites used in classrooms district wide. Students will begin to learn how to build and maintain an online portfolio of their completed work within a learning management system as well as learn how to be safe online, avoid conflict, and promote positive social interactions through digital citizenship lessons.

The revised Digital Skills course has been approved by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.
