Summary:

Perris High School’s (PHS) Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Coordinator, Gypsi Perez, is in the process of planning their annual Southern California college trip for PHS AVID Sophomores. The dates are April 4-6, 2017. Approximately 50 students and 5 adult certificated chaperones will be visiting five college campuses in and around the Los Angeles area.
The purpose of the trip is to introduce different college campuses to the students. The students have participated in day trips to local Southern California campuses but by being allowed to stay overnight, they can visit multiple campuses without being stuck in traffic. The main focus of AVID is attending college. This trip will motivate the students to keep up their grades and stay in AVID. The colleges on their itinerary include: CSU Northridge, Cal State Channel Islands, UC Santa Barbara, CSU Los Angeles, University of Southern California, UC Los Angeles, and CSU Dominguez Hills.
The 50 students and 5 or more adults will be transported by bus. Hotel and meals will be at a cost of $150 per person, which will be paid by the AVID Associated Student Body account via student fund raising.
