Summary:
|
The District entered into an Agreement with Earth Systems for Additional Geotechnical Services for the High School No. 4 Project. These services include eleven additional seismic refraction lines to evaluate the potential rippability of the soil which will be graded during the High School No. 4 Project. These additional services also include planning the location of subsurface drains and the depth of these drains, over excavation plans, locating a suitable site on the property for rock disposal and the evaluation on the need to blast rock which could be encountered on site. Additionally, Earth Systems will provide the necessary equipment and operator to dig and explore various locations on the site to evaluate and demonstrate excavation to contractors that will be bidding on this category of work. The cost for these services is $44,700.
This Agreement is being brought forward as a ratification and was awarded in order to meet critical project timelines and negate undue delay of the project. Ratification of this contract award is permitted for Board approved facilities projects pursuant to Purchasing Policy.
Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment, and services.

The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through various facilities funds, not the General Fund.
