Summary:

Mark Synnott, Educational Services Coordinator, and Amanda Darton, Math Teacher on Special Assignment, have been invited to attend the Imagine Learning Partnership Forum, in Provo, Utah, April 11-13, 2018. The invitation came from Imagine Learning as an all-inclusive incentive to attend this event.
Attending the Imagine Learning Partnership Forum is an opportunity for Mr. Synnott and Ms. Darton to get indepth training on Imagine Learnings intervention programs. The focus of their training will be on the Imagine Math program. Imagine Math is a rigorous, standards-rich supplemental math curriculum that adapts to the unique needs of each student, so every student can develop the essential foundations and conceptual understanding they need to confidently move to the next level. Because the system is adaptive, students learn in their zone of proximal development with the right degree of challenge. Instruction is always supported by meaningful practice and the application of knowledge at the conceptual level. Imagine Learning provides live teacher support, motivation and engagement techniques and progress monitoring.
During this forum, the two attendees will not only get training on how the program works, how to successfully implement the program at our schools, but will also be able to get to see the program in action at schools in Utah. Mr. Synnott and Ms. Darton are looking forward to being able to review this program first hand and to see how it will work if the District goes forward with it for our math support classes.
All expenses are being paid by Imagine Learning for both Mr. Synnott and Ms. Dalton.
This item is coming to the Board of Trustees for ratification due to the fact that the invitation from Imagine Learning arrived after the close of the March 21, 2018 agenda timeline.
