Hemet USD Amendment 3-CMI 2016 Agmt.pdf
Summary: The Charter would like to retain the services of Hemet Unified School District for transportation services for a one (1) year renewal term from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. The Board approved the initial year of the contract at the Board Meeting on June 17, 2016.

Hemet Unified School District currently transports home to school in Moreno Valley, as well as for athletic/extracurricular transportation and late activity buses as needed. Prior to July 1, 2016, the Charter had previously utilized these services under the transportation agreement between Hemet Unified School District and the Perris Union High School District. As a separate legal entity, the Charter began its own agreement beginning with the 2016-17 school year.

The initial term of the original Agreement was from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017. The Agreement included up to four (4) additional one (1) year terms. This term, for Amendment No. 3 from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020, will be the third of the (4) additional one (1) year terms. Home to school transportation will be a fixed cost of $328,489.03 whereas activity buses will be billed at a rate of $75.40 per hour and late buses at $191.23 per day.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the Charter School, Fund 09.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve Amendment No. 3 to Agreement for student transportation services between Hemet Unified School District and the California Military Institute.
