Summary:
|
The District continues to plan for a variety of capital facility projects as identified through our Facilities Master Plan as well as other needs that arise within the District. An integral part of the planning associated with each project is the inclusion of a construction management company to assist with individual project scope identification, the completion of plan review/constructability review, refinements of cost estimates and a determination of the most effective project delivery system based upon scope, budget, project timeline and unique site and/or building elements.
On March 27, 2018 the Facilities Department published a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Construction Management Services. On April 10, 2018 the District received 14 proposals in response to the RFQ. After carefully reviewing each proposal, contacting school district references and conducting interviews, the District selected the following firms to be included within an Approved List of Qualified Construction Management Companies:
Balfour Beatty Construction
Bogh Engineering
C.W. Driver Builders
Neff Construction Incorporated
Paul Miller Construction Incorporated
These companies will be able to provide the District with a wide range of service options from which to choose for future project-specific assignments. When beneficial, staff will obtain multiple price and service quotes for future projects and at the time of contract award will report these results to the Board with staff’s recommendation for each future project-specific assignment.
The process for selection of Construction Management Firms is followed pursuant to Government Code 4526, which states selection shall be on the basis of demonstrated competence and on the professional qualifications necessary for the satisfactory performance of the services required.
