Summary:

Charles Tippie, Director of Learning Support Services, has submitted revisions to the Course Title of four English Language Development courses: English Language Development I (ELD I), English Language Development II (ELD II), English Development III (ELD III) and Advanced English Language Development. The revised course titles, upon approval, will be Academic English 1, Academic English 2, Academic English 3 and Academic English 4. All courses meet UC-CSU A-G requirements.
The purpose of these courses is to develop English Language Development skills and move students from the Emerging level to the Expanding level on the English Language Development Continuum according to the California English Language Development Framework. The course provides students with protected Designated English Language Development and access to the Core Curriculum.
The revision of the course titles has been approved by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.
