Summary:
|
The District would like to enter into an Agreement with Blue Water Educational Consulting to conduct site level training for Alternative to Suspensions (ATS) that will familiarize Administrators at Pinacate Middle School and Perris High School with the premises and philosophies inherent in Restorative Practices. Services under this Agreement include support and training in the development and implementation of an Alternative to Suspension Program Model, including, on site Restorative Discipline Training for Administrators and Restorative Workshops to replace lunch and after school detentions. This service will include three main components: 1) An academically rigorous online platform 2) Social/emotional support via individual and group counseling 3) College/career readiness support along with the ATS Program Model. The combination of these components embedded within the model has had tremendous impacts on students and families in other districts that utilize the ATS Program Model with an at-risk student population. The services will be rendered over 20 days during the 2018-19 school year working with Perris High School and Pinacate Middle School to implement the ATS Program Model. The cost for these services will be $2,000 per day, not to exceed $40,000. Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
