Summary: On May 14, 2018, the District issued RFQ #053018 requesting Statement of Qualifications for School Facilities Consultant Services for a three (3) year term beginning July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021. These services include:

1) Assisting with general facility-related matters.

2) Ongoing implementation of the District Master Plan.

3) Assist with school site identification and acquisition.

4) Assist with site-based and district-wide facility planning groups.

5) Assess current facilities planning and construction.

6) Interface with collaborative districts, district facilities and financing teams, project representatives, public agencies, and constituency groups.

7) Continue to develop strategies and funding for facility improvements.

8) Provide updates to the District.

On May 30, 2018, the District received five (5) submissions to RFQ #053018. The RFQ submissions have been reviewed and scored by the District's Purchasing and Facilities Departments.

Upon review, the District would like to extend the contract for Facilities Consulting Services to Fred Good and Associates LLC. Beginning with the 2007-08 school year, the District retained consulting services from Dr. Fred Good of Fred Good and Associates, LLC, for development of the Facilities Master Plan, site acquisitions, and for the planning of current and future facilities projects. The District has been extremely satisfied with the services that Dr. Good has provided and in light of these experiences, we would like to retain him for consulting services with a multi-year Consulting Agreement for the 2018-19 through the 2020-21 school years.

The fee for school facility consultant services during the 3-year term beginning July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021, as provided by Fred Good and Associates LLC, are at an hourly rate of $210, and are estimated to not exceed $125,000 annually.

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21 operating budget funded through the Capital Facilities Fund, Fund 25.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Multi-Year Consulting Services Master Agreement with Fred Good and Associates, LLC.
