Summary:

In May 2019, the PUHSD Board awarded the Special Inspection and Testing services for the California Military Institute (CMI) Gym and Parking/Circulation Project to River City Testing. On September 29, 2020, the District was notified that River City Testing had lost their license to inspect construction projects under the jurisdiction of the Division of State Architect's (DSA) Office. As a result of this notification, the District obtained a proposal from Leighton Consulting, Inc. to complete the remaining special inspection and testing services required to complete the CMI Gym and Parking/Circulation Project. The District would like to extend the contract for the remainder of the Special Inspections and Testing Services to Leighton Consulting, Inc., for the CMI Gym and Parking/Circulation Project. Title 24, Part 1, Section 4-335 requires that special inspections and testing for construction projects under the jurisdiction of the Division of State Architects (DSA) be performed by testing facilities acceptable to the Division of State Architects (DSA). The services are being provided at an estimated cost of $16,393.
This Agreement is being brought forth to the Board as a ratification in order to meet critical project timelines as this project is currently under construction. A delay in these inspections would cause project delays.
