Summary:
|
The Nutrition Services Department would like to renew their contract with Oak Grove Center at the Ranch to provide breakfast and lunch to their students. Currently, charter schools are not required to provide meals to low income or students in need. The administration at Oak Grove Center at the Ranch understands that good nutrition and education go hand-in-hand. Charter schools have several options to provide meals to their students. Both Oak Grove and the District believe it is better to serve the students of our community from within the community.
The District agrees to provide meals in compliance with the National School Lunch Program. Meals will be prepared and picked up daily out of the kitchen at Pinacate Middle School. The contract stands to generate an estimated additional $25,000 for the 2020-21 school year for the Nutrition Services Department.
The term for this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.
