MSJC Dual Enrollment Agreement 17-18.pdf
Summary: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the 2017-18 school year was reached between the District and Mt. San Jacinto Community College (MSJC) to provide dual-credit courses for academic, developmental, and occupational courses that will be accessible and beneficial to high school students enrolled within the District.

The purpose of the MSJC-PUHSD Dual Enrollment Partnership is to afford current high school students with the opportunity to enroll in dual-credit courses to expand student access to affordable higher education, provide challenging academic and occupational experiences to qualified high school students during their junior and senior years, and reduce the costs of a college education for students and their families. Successful completion of occupational courses will allow students to simultaneously earn college credits, to satisfy high school graduation requirements, and to assist in the transition to community college, job opportunities, or careers.

The term of this MOU will be July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

Education Codes 48800-48802: The governing board may authorize educational enrichment opportunities for eligible students to ensure a smoother transition from high school to college through enrollment as special part-time or full-time students in community college level courses.
Funding: There is no fiscal impact for this item.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Memorandum of Understanding with Mt. San Jacinto Community College to provide Dual-Credit Courses.
