Summary:
|
The District Nutrition Services Department has identified that a potential funding shortfall is present in the upcoming years. In order to partly address that shortfall it has been determined some positions would need to be laid off and/or work hours would need to reduced. In both cases the District is required to provide a Notice of Layoff to the affected classified employees pursuant to the requirements of the law. Approval of this item will allow the District to provide a sixty (60) day notice, pursuant to Education Code Sections 45117 and 45308, to all classified employees that may be affected by the reduction/elimination of such positions.

The budget will be revised to reflect the layoff.

It is recommended that Board of Trustees approve Resolution No. 34:17-18 - Notice of Reduction of Workday/Layoff of Classified Employees for the 2018-19 School Year.
