Summary:
|
Per Board Bylaw Policy BB 9330 "The Governing Board shall ordinarily hold membership in and attend meetings of such local, state, regional, and national school board associations as may exist, and shall look upon such memberships as opportunities for inservice training".
Historically, the School Board and Superintendent have attended out-of-state conferences to obtain inservice training for their respective roles. Because professional development is critical for employees and Governing Board members alike, the Superintendent is recommending the Board approve the conference request.

The cost for this item is included in the 2017-2018 operating budget funded through Board of Trustees/General Fund and the Superintendent's Office/General Fund

Recommendation:
|
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the out-of-state conference request for Dr. Jose Luis Araux, Edward Garcia, Jr., David Nelissen, Anthony Stafford, Sr., and Grant Bennett to attend the 2018 National School Boards Association (NSBA) Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas, April 7-9, 2018.
