Summary:
|
On March 19, 2014, the Board of Trustees approved Lease Agreements for nine classroom portables and one restroom portable to be used as interim housing during the Phase 2 and PACE Facilities Projects on the Perris High School campus. The District desires to extend the lease until the final completion phase construction plans and timing are finalized. These portables may be used for the final construction phase and a lease extension is the more cost effective option of paying for removal and then to again bring in new portable interim housing.
These contract addendum pricing is as follows:
3 - 24x40 classroom portables - $625 per month, 1 year lease extension from August 4, 2018 through July 29, 2019.
3 - 36x40 classroom portables - $1,475 per month, 1 year lease extension from August 4, 2018 through July 29, 2019.
3 - 48x40 classroom portables - $1,845 per month, 1 year lease extension from August 4, 2018 through July 29, 2019.
1 - 12x40 restroom building - $1,705 per month, 1 year lease extension from August 4, 2018 through July 29, 2019.
This item is being taken to the Board as a ratification due to the untimely receipt of the Addendum from Mobile Modular.
Education Code Section 17450 permits a school district to lease or lease-purchase equipment or service systems, including but not limited to, all items defined as equipment in the California School Accounting Manual, with any persons, firm, corporation or public agency. Additionally, if there is an existing contract between a public agency and a vendor for the lease or purchase of the personal property, Public Contract Code Section 20118 allows school districts to lease or purchase the personal property directly from the vendor by contract, lease, requisition, or purchase order and make payments directly to the vendor under the same terms that are available to the public agency under the contract.

The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget, funded through the various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify the Contract Addendum with Mobile Modular Management Corporation for the continued lease of portables at Perris High School.
