Baker Nowicki for LHS Furniture Selection and Consultation-2020-21.pdf
Summary: The District previously executed an Agreement for Architectural Services with Baker Nowicki Design Studio in November of 2013, for the planning and design of Liberty High School. Construction on the Liberty Campus is ongoing and is scheduled to open for students in August of 2021. As the project continues through construction and ultimately completion, staff has identified the need to begin the planning and coordination of the FF&E items that will be needed at Liberty to open. Among these items is the furniture selection for the entire campus. Staff has requested a proposal from Baker Nowicki Design Studio for Furniture Selection and Consultation Services. These services will include furniture design, programming and project start up coordination, furniture dealer coordination, preliminary furniture layout design for all areas of the campus, finish selection review and final furniture plan and finish schedule design. Baker Nowicki Design Studio will provide the final FF&E package which will be used to purchase the furniture and all related items as identified through planning for the Liberty High School Campus. Baker Nowicki Design Studio will provide these services at a fixed fee of $198,850.

This item is being brought forward as a ratification due to the need to move forward with the design and selection of furniture for Liberty High School in order to meet critical procurement and bidding timelines.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2020-21 operating budget funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify the Agreement with Baker Nowicki Design Studio for furniture, fixtures and equipment selection and consultation services for the LIberty High School Project.
