Summary:
|
Perris Union High School District has been participating in the Google Education Think Tank as one of 20 total schools and universities. The Think Tank partners met with each other at Google offices twice a year in 2014 and 2015. As a result of the success seen thus far. The Google Think Tank has been meeting twice a year with one meeting taking place in the fall semester on the East Coast and one meeting taking place in the spring semester on the West Coast.
The Google Think Tank will continue to provide a collaborative forum for school districts to share and learn from their experiences with integrating technology into the classroom, operations and overall culture of the District. The goal for the Think Tank Program is to inspire innovative approaches to education, to disseminate insights on learning models, and to determine how Google technology can best support schools and universities.

The cost for this item will be included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through Title I Funds, not the General Fund.

Recommendation:

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the out-of-state conference request for Joseph Williams, Executive Director of Technology, to continue the District’s participation in Google’s Education Think Tank for the 2019-20 School Year.
