Summary: Perris High School’s JROTC’s instructor, LTC John Kirkland, has submitted a request for PHS Cadets to participate in the Leadership Training Camp that will be held at Lake Perris Recreation Area and Campground located in Moreno Valley, California, April 25-26, 2020.

The purpose of this annual encampment is to give high school JROTC students the opportunity to master outdoor skills and to learn leadership in small groups, as well as curriculum-related training that will qualify cadets for the camp ribbon/awards.

This two-day training will enable cadets to improve communication skills and practice the tools they have learned during classroom instruction that include map reading, leadership training, survival skills, first aid, teamwork, and physical fitness. This encampment will provide students with an opportunity to practice and enhance their skills.

Approximately eighty (80) cadets from Perris High School will be participating in this camping experience at Lake Perris, along with four (4) chaperones.

Lodging/camp fees and meals will be provided by the JROTC Associated Student Body.
