Summary:
|
Perris High School’s Agriculture teacher, Douglas Cousins, is requesting approval by the Board for the Future Farmers of America (FFA) students to attend the 2020 National Date Festival and Fair in Indio, California, February 15-16, 2020.
Nine (9) students and two (2) advisors will be preparing and showing the livestock that were born at the Perris High School farm over the summer.
By participating in this event, students will be able to interact with community members and market their livestock projects, which will be sold during the fair. The students and advisors will be camping at the fairgrounds. The total cost for students and advisors to camp at the fairgrounds is approximately $150 per person.

The cost for this item is included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds, the Perkins Grant, and Perris High School's Future Farmers of America Student Body Account, not the General Fund.
