CCGI Amendment No.1 for Agreement No. CG-096-16.pdf
Summary: The District would like to continue an Agreement with the Foundation for Community Colleges for the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI). The California Colleges Guidance Initiative seeks to ensure that all 6th-12th grade students in California have access to a systemic baseline of tools and information as they plan, prepare, and figure out how to pay for college. There are three key areas of concern that CCGI will address. The first concern is the lack of information that parents and families have regarding minimum eligibility requirements (A-G requirements) for a four year college entrance. The second concern is to establish a systematic way to track college preparation for students in college and career readiness. The final concern is to address the lack of success that students are having when entering community college at credit level classes. CCGI creates individual electronic college and career planning portfolios on www.CaliforniaColleges.edu for all students in partnership districts that are populated and updated with student college and career readiness data.

This Amendment extends the terms of the original Agreement for one additional year to cover the 2017-18 school year.

The fees are based on 2016-17 California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS) census data. The fee per student for grades 6-8 will be $2.00 for the 2017-18 school year. The fee per student for grades 9-12 will be $2.75 for the 2017-18 school year.

The total estimated cost of the Agreement for the 2017-18 school year is $28,123.

The cost for the District’s portion of services is $25,795.75. The cost for the California Military Institute’s (CMI) portion of services is $2,327.25, which will be billed as a direct cost to CMI per the Memorandum of Understanding between the District and CMI.

Education Codes 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2017-18 operating budget funded through the General Fund and the Charter School.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Amendment to the Agreement with the Foundation for Community Colleges for the California College Guidance Initiative.
