Summary:

Paloma Valley High School’s NJROTC is submitting a request to have some of its top cadets participate in the Naval Junior ROTC Area Eleven Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academy’s mission is to prepare rising cadet leaders to take positions of leadership in its school’s NJROTC program, with the expectation of the cadets returning highly motivated and who will provide leadership for the unit for the next school year. The Leadership Academy will be held at the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center in Orange, California, June 19-24, 2017. This is an ideal place for training and is used regularly by the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Ten (10) students (cadets) have been invited to participate in this demanding and challenging opportunity. In order to graduate, cadets will be tested on their ability to compete in a stringent physical and mental environment. Classes will consist of subjects including physical fitness, practical leadership, advanced military drill, self-awareness, and NJROTC subject areas. The cost for the cadets to attend the Leadership Academy is $250 per cadet which includes lodging, meals, and miscellaneous items. All expenses will be paid for through the Associated Student Body account.
