Summary:
|
The District currently provides services to approximately 1,330 students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Although the District offers most services to students, we do not offer all services to students. The District contracts annually with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools through the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) for visual impairment services, deaf and hard of hearing services, orthopedic impairment services, intensive behavior intervention services, and services for students with extreme intellectual disabilities. Riverside County also supports us with home/hospital teachers if there is a need or student that requires extensive support. The Riverside County Superintendent of Schools has extensive services for students with these disabilities and continues to do an excellent job of servicing our students.
The term of this Agreement shall be for one (1) year from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. The estimated cost of these services, based upon current projected enrollment, is $366,870.00. The detailed breakdown of these costs is on page seven (7) of the attached Agreement.
This Agreement is being brought before the Board as a ratification due to the untimely receipt from the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools.

The cost for this item is included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through Special Education, not the General Fund.
