Summary:
|
On January 1, 2014, Public Contract Code Section 20111.6 (Section 20111.6) went into effect and requires California school districts to prequalify certain prospective bidders for certain public construction projects. The prospective bidders that must be prequalified pursuant to Section 20111.6 include general contractors and certain mechanical, electrical and plumbing subcontractors. Section 20111.6 applies to public projects that:
1) are projected to cost $1 million or more; and
2) are funded, in whole or in part, using bond funds provided by the State of California.
Since 2016, the District has used the services of PQ Bids on an annual contract basis to prequalify contractors pursuant to PCC 20111.6. Now, the District would like to enter into a 3-Year Agreement with PQ Bids to continue these services in compliance with Public Contract Code Section 20111.6. In addition to the regular pre-qualification services, PQ Bids will perform the pre-qualification services necessary for the Liberty High School Project as part of their base services. The cost of this Agreement is $32,500 for 3 years (November 14, 2018 through November 13, 2021).
Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment, and services.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with PQ Bids for online, contractor pre-qualification services in compliance with Public Contract Code Section 20111.6.
