Summary:

Perris High School Agriculture Advisor, Douglas Cousins, is requesting Board approval for Perris High School's (PHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA) students to attend the 2019 FFA Made for Excellence Conference/Advanced Leadership Academy (MFE/ALA) in Ontario, California on February 1-2, 2019.
The Made for Excellence conference will focus on developing students’ leadership skills, explore the role of choices and responsibility in character development, investigate personal strengths and interests, identify specific opportunities for involvement in FFA and continued leadership growth.
The Advanced Leadership Academy will bring focus to the agriculture industry. Each student will be exposed to industry leaders and organizations and understand the important role they play in promoting agriculture; create an understanding of issues that affect the agriculture industry; and develop/present an oral argument on one of the identified issues.
Thirty FFA students and three chaperones will be attending the event. The cost per person is $100 with the approximate total cost not to exceed $3,300. Transportation to Ontario will be provided by District vehicles.

The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through Perris High School's Future Farmers of America Associated Student Body funds, Perris High School Site funds, the Perkins Grant and Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration funds in the amount of $3,300.
