Summary: The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) will provide Next Generation Science Standards professional development for Science teachers. The multi-day training is designed to provide opportunities for all district science teachers to build overall knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), create NGSS Units of Study and formative assessments, and acquaint teachers with NGSS Early Implementers. This year long training will highlight successful practices in the implementation of the NGSS standards and create collaborative opportunities for teachers to engage in planning and development of curriculum.

The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018 at a total cost of $12,000.

This modification to the Agreement is being taken to the Board as a ratification due to the untimely receipt of the contract from the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools.

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2017-18 operating budget funded through the Educator Effectiveness Grant, not the General Fund.
