Summary:
|
Perris High School’s Agriculture teacher Douglas Cousins, has submitted an overnight field trip request for Perris High School's Future Farmers of America (FFA) students to attend the 89th Annual State FFA Leadership Conference, in Fresno, California, April 20-25, 2017. The purpose of the trip is for the students to build interpersonal communication skills, develop leadership capabilities, and be enlightened of the opportunities offered in agriculture education.
In addition, it is necessary for the Perris Chapter of FFA to be represented by two voting delegates at the convention if they are to remain in good standing with the state association. By being represented, they will be able to continue participating in FFA sponsored activities, be eligible for agriculture incentive and specialized grants, as well as give students the ability to run for regional and state FFA offices.
This is an overnight field trip of five nights, with 30 students, and 5 adult chaperones. Transportation will be provided via District vehicles. The estimated cost is $150 per person. All expenses will be paid from the Perkins Grant and student fundraising.

The cost for this item is included in the 2016-17 operating budget funded through the Perkins monies, Fund 06, and the Agriculture ASB account.
